The condition can be, for instance, that the variable 'i' never gets to a certain value (specified as the termination condition) or it can be that a certain action has been done for each iteration of the loop .In the following example, the console outputs the letters A,B,C and D. In this loop, if 'i' is greater than or equal to 3 then it will go back to 0.If i is less than 1 then there is not enough time to do anything with it so it just prints out a new letter.

An if statement checks to see whether or not a certain condition has been met, then executes one or more lines of code accordingly.

The if statement can be used by itself, in conjunction with loops, or as part of other programming constructs such as functions and classes.
